Over 110 Cases Against Me, This Is Like a Mere Strand of Hair: Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka Responds to Police Notice
BANTWAL: Senior Sangh Parivar leader Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka has nonchalantly dismissed a fresh police notice issued against him, declaring that with over 110 criminal cases already registered in his name, an additional case is as insignificant as “a mere strand of hair.”
Kalladka made these remarks while addressing media representatives during a protest meeting held near Raktheshwari Sannidhi in B.C. Road. The demonstration was organized jointly by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal’s Mangaluru Rural district unit to strongly oppose the invocation of the Goonda Act against Hindutva activists who had already secured judicial bail.
Defending his right to express opinions, Kalladka cited the freedom of speech guaranteed by the Indian Constitution under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He questioned the rationale behind the police action, asking whether his public addresses ever incited violence or instructed anyone to cause physical harm. He heavily criticized the authorities, questioning if speaking into a microphone should warrant criminal charges.
Furthermore, Kalladka emphasized that the Hindu community must not be continuously suppressed and demanded proper constitutional protection for citizens. Reflecting on his long history of confrontations with the administration, he noted that he had faced numerous investigations and even went to prison alongside his wife during Indira Gandhi’s tenure. Daring the law enforcement authorities, he remarked that hanging him was perhaps the only extreme action left, challenging them to execute it if they possessed the true courage.
