UDUPI, Aug 1: Former Vice President of the Udupi City Municipal Council, Lakshmi Manjunath, was tragically killed on Saturday afternoon after being struck by a bus on Court Road near Lions Circle.

The deceased, 37-year-old Lakshmi Manjunath, was the wife of Hindu Yuva Sena leader Manju Kola.

According to sources, the incident took place while she was walking along the road following meetings at the local BJP office and the Udupi MLA’s office. A private bus allegedly knocked her down, inflicting severe injuries. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

Traffic police rushed to the scene shortly after the incident and have initiated an investigation into the mishap.
