Hubli/New Delhi: The All India Railway Coolie Organization, including representatives from the South Western Railway Hubli Coolie Organization, continues its relentless campaign to address the livelihood crisis faced by railway coolies. Led by Shri Amjad JamKhanwale and Imam Sahab Maniyar of the South Western Railway, the delegation, after meeting Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha and AAP leader Sanjay Singh on July 24, 2025, and Dr. Byreddy Shabari on July 25, 2025, has scheduled further engagements to escalate their demands. As of 11:11 AM IST on Friday, July 25, 2025, the team is preparing to meet additional stakeholders to ensure their voices reach the highest echelons of power.

Details of Ongoing Efforts:
The delegation’s journey began in Hubli on July 24, where they met MP Manoj Kumar Jha, presenting a memorandum on inadequate wages, job insecurity, and the need for a minimum pay structure. The same day, they met Sanjay Singh, followed by Dr. Byreddy Shabari on July 25, who committed to raising the issue in the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament. Today, the team is focusing on engaging with railway union leaders and local MLAs to broaden their support base. Shri Amjad JamKhanwale emphasized, “Our struggle is for survival and dignity—coolies are the backbone of the railway system.”

The latest discussions include plans to meet representatives from the All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) later today, aiming to align with broader railway worker movements. Imam Sahab Maniyar noted, “We are not alone; every step brings us closer to justice.”

Political Support and Commitment:

MP Jha (RJD) and Sanjay Singh (AAP) have pledged parliamentary action, while Dr. Shabari’s promise to address the crisis in the Monsoon Session has bolstered the campaign. An X post by @ByreddyShabari (July 23, 2025) highlighted the National Porter Front’s resolution, reinforcing the urgency. The delegation hopes these additional meetings will pressure the government to act, with public support growing on social media.

Demands and Public Appeal:

The coolies reiterate their demands for a government-fixed minimum wage, healthcare access, and recognition of their labor. Viral images from the meetings continue to circulate, with captions like “Paggdi, Pehchaan aur Parishram.” An X user posted at 10:45 AM IST today, “The fight of these coolies is inspiring. @RJDforIndia, @AamAadmiParty, and Dr. Shabari must push for change.
