PM Modi Engages in Temple Cleaning at Kalaram Temple Ahead of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha in Maharashtra

As the nation gears up for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to initiate the auspicious occasion by participating in temple cleaning. In a recently shared video by ANI on the microblogging platform ‘X’, PM Modi can be seen cleaning the premises of Kalaram temple in Nashik, Maharashtra.

During his visit to the state, PM Modi is also scheduled to inaugurate India’s longest sea bridge, Atal Setu or Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), a 21.8-kilometer bridge with six lanes, dedicated to the late BJP veteran and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The construction of this bridge incurred a staggering cost of ₹18,000 crore.

Before the inauguration ceremony, the PM offered prayers at the historic Shree Kalaram Temple in Nashik’s Panchvati area. While participating in the cleaning drive, he urged the youth of the country to actively contribute to Swachhata Abhiyans in the temples in their vicinity.

The PM received a warm welcome from the trustees of the Shree Kalaram Temple Trust and was taken around the temple precincts for darshan. He also performed an aarti at the premises with the priests and listened to verses from the Bhavarth Ramayana written in Marathi by Sant Eknath Ji, narrating Lord Rama’s triumphant return to Ayodhya. PM Modi expressed his profound experience, stating that the recitation, resonating with devotion and history, was very special.

He was honored with a shawl and presented with a photo frame of the temple idols, a replica of the temple, and a plaque. Later, Modi participated in singing holy hymns with priests and bhajan singers, playing a pair of mini-cymbals at the temple situated in the lush green hills of Panchvati overlooking the northern banks of the River Godavari.
