Six Naxals Surrender in Karnataka, CM Siddaramaiah Welcomes

Six former Naxals surrendered to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on January 8, 2025.
The individuals, who had been part of the Maoist movement for over 20 years, handed over their weapons and uniforms. The CM welcomed them with roses and copies of the Constitution.
Latha Mundagaru, representing the group, expressed gratitude for the chance to return to society peacefully. Siddaramaiah assured support through rehabilitation programs, including financial compensation.
The government has allocated ₹3 lakh for each individual. The CM stressed the importance of constitutional methods over armed struggle for social change.
